San Francisco Planning and Urban research is leading a multi-agency effort to solve the erosion issue at Sloat. The organization has released the Ocean Beach Master Plan which contains a blueprint for Sloat restoration. Meanwhile, it is always helpful to write a personal letter to the various officials and public agencies with jurisdiction over the erosion site. We need your voice in support for beach restoration through a managed retreat strategy. Presently, we are asking SFPUC and SPUR to undertake a relocation study of the Lake Merced Tunnel (LMT). The LMT sits under the southbound Great Highway; and is also under threat from the advancing surf.
